Packaging Society Annual Fellows’ lunch at the RAF Club

The Packaging Society

26 May 2017

On May 16th the London and South East Packaging Society hosted the annual Packaging Society Fellows lunch at the magnificent RAF Club in central London.  This year’s luncheon was an even more special event as it is the seventieth anniversary of the founding of The Institute of Packaging, which then became a division of the IOM3 in 2004.

A record 88 Fellows and guests were present when Grace was given by former Chairman of the National Board Keith Barnes. Recently retired from IOM3, Ian Morris was presented with an outstanding service award certificate by Liam Barbary, Chairman of the East Midlands Packaging Society.  Master of ceremonies Barry Jones spoke about Print It, the not for profit initiative which informs students and teachers about the graphic arts and careers in the industry and how it is the UK’s biggest schools into industry programme.

Chris Waterhouse current National Chairman and Managing Director of iDi Pac addressed the guests on behalf of the members and the response on behalf of the guests was given by Douglas Gibson, Managing Director of Infigo; the suppliers of the customisation software used in the digital packaging industry.

The afternoon continued after the lunch for many of the guests with networking and socialising in the club

Special thanks to everyone who made it such a memorable afternoon and in particular to our corporate supporters: Earth Island Publishing, Fiskeby Board, Infigo, Premier Paper, and we look forward to seeing you all again next year on May 15th 2018.
