IOM3 recognises professional competence in all technologies associated with materials, minerals and  mining through registration with the Engineering Council, Science Council and Council for the Environment.

Engineering Council registration

As the regulatory body for the UK engineering profession, The Engineering Council sets and maintains internationally recognised standards of professional competence and commitment. It currently holds the national register of over 230,000 engineers and technicians who have been assessed against such standards.
