Applied Earth Science publishes special issue on chromitite deposits

Published in December 2009, this special issue of Applied Earth Science is dedicated to advances in the understanding of chromitite deposits. The issue consists of papers specially commissioned by the guest editors, Sisir K. Mondal, University of Copenhagen, Denmark, and Iain McDonald, Cardiff University, UK, to review current research in this field.

New UK Site Investigation guidance documents to be published in 2010

The UK Specification for Ground Investigation has recently been submitted to the Site Investigation Steering Group by the Association of Geotechnical and Geoenvironmental Specialists in final draft form for ratification by the various members of the SISG. Copies are available for review but must be requested by 15 January 2010.

CRIRSCO and Reporting Code

CRIRSCO - the Combined Reserves International Reporting Standards Committee - is the international committee which coordinates the activities of the national reporting committees including PERC, JORC (Australasia), SAMREC (S.Africa), CIM (Canada), IMEC (Chile), and SME (USA).

 

PERC

PERC: the Pan-European reserves & Resources Reporting Committee, co-sponsored by IOM3/IMMa together with the Geological Society, the European Federation of Geologists, and the Institute of Geologists of Ireland, has launched the consultation draft of its new minerals reporting code.
