Sofia Patri, 2026 Grant to Support Knowledge Exchange recipient, shares her experience.
Thanks to the support of the IOM3 Grants to Support Knowledge, I was able to attend the 15th International Conference on the Scientific and Clinical Applications of Magnetic Carriers in Paris, France. This opportunity allowed me to present my PhD research on magnetic microgels for prostate cancer. Attending the conference allowed me to engage in high-level discussions with leading researchers who possess a technical understanding of my work and provided valuable feedback. I found that these interactions were essentials to refine my thesis and prepare for my viva. Furthermore, participating in this conference allowed me to contextualise my own findings within the broader landscape of current research. This was essential to help me identify key knowledge gaps and synthesise my results into a high-impact manuscript for publication.
