Grants to Support Knowledge Exchange - Joshua Daoud
Joshua Daoud, 2025 Grant to Support Knowledge Exchange recipient, shares his experience.

The IOM3 Grants to Support Knowledge enabled me to attend the 2025 Microphysiological Systems World Summit in Brussels, Belgium. The conference attracted more than 1,400 individuals from over 40 different countries, with various organisations and institutions in attendance.
This opportunity was not only educational but also professionally enriching, as it allowed me to explore unique research approaches which have shaped this dynamic research area. Through attending various keynote talks, I gained new perspectives on how these systems can be developed and implemented across academic and industry settings. As part of the conference, I had the privilege of showcasing research from my laboratory, conducted under the guidance of Dr Christopher Chapman. Representing our research group, I diversified my communication skillset to connect with many international academics and experts. I received valuable interest and feedback from my poster presentation, which highlighted our contributions to the advancement of microphysiological systems.
The insight and knowledge I have gathered through attending this conference will undoubtedly inspire and strengthen my future research.
I would like to sincerely thank IOM3 for making this opportunity possible.
