Receiving the IOM3 Grant to Support Knowledge Exchange to attend the European Society for Biomaterials (ESB) 2026 Conference in Antwerp, Belgium, was an amazing opportunity for my career. Presenting my poster provided an excellent platform to share my research, gain fresh perspectives, and engage directly with international researchers.
The academic quality of the conference was outstanding, with presentations consistently delivered at a remarkably high level. A major personal highlight was attending a keynote by a professor whose work I had recently been reading and subsequently getting the chance to meet them in person to discuss shared research interests.
Beyond the formal sessions, the event was a fantastic networking space. It was wonderful catching up with old friends while simultaneously forging dynamic new professional connections across the global biomaterials’ community. I am immensely grateful to IOM3 for supporting my travel; this bursary not only accelerated my professional development but also provided an incredibly inspiring experience in Antwerp.
