Welcoming the new Chair of the IOM3 Sustainable Development Group
Dr Maurizio Carano MIMMM has been appointed Chair of the IOM3 Sustainable Development Group (SDG).
We’re pleased to welcome Dr Maurizio Carano MIMMM as Chair of the IOM3 Sustainable Development Group.
A chemist by training, with a PhD from the University of Bologna, Maurizio brings more than 20 years’ experience leading innovation, marketing and circularity across global packaging and materials businesses.
As Chair, Maurizio aims to build on the work of his predecessors and further establish the Sustainable Development Group as a sustainability hub within IOM3. His priorities include strengthening collaboration with other IOM3 Technical Communities, creating more opportunities for the 1,500+ members interested in the group’s activities to engage, and supporting credible, life-cycle-based approaches to sustainability.
He also hopes to rebuild a signature Sustainable Future platform, broaden the group’s international and early-career reach, and strengthen IOM3’s influence in sustainability policy.
Maurizio says:
I’m honoured to chair the Sustainable Development Group and build on the work of my predecessors.
My ambition is to make the SDG IOM3’s sustainability backbone, working with sister Technical Communities, giving our 1,500+ interested members reasons to engage, and becoming a trusted voice on credible, life-cycle-based evidence.
Over the next few years, I want to rebuild a signature Sustainable Future platform, widen our international and early-career reach, and strengthen IOM3’s policy influence.
