Hydrogen train in Germany

Mike Muldoon described how Alstom are working to bring hydrogen powered trains to the UK, after their sucess in running the first ones in Germany in September 2018.  The target area in the UK is for regional railways, where electrification is not technically possible, or cost effective.  Mike described the background to the decision to pursue hydrogen powered trains, and the advantages of doing so in areas not suitable for electrification.  The aim is to have hydrogen trains running in the UK by summer 2022.  The initial area to run them will be in East Anglia.
