Lingerie dons recycled post-consumer waste

The products from Swedish fashion chain Lindex would recycle polyamide (nylon 6) materials.

German chemical producer BASF has partnered with Lindex to supply its recycled polyamide 6 product loopamid.

The end-of-life textiles to produce loopamid come from post-consumer waste and cut-offs, leftovers and miscuts from the polyamide textiles manufacturing process.

BASF explains how the purified polyamide monomers react to form new polyamide polymers. The polyamide is then processed into yarn using conventional spinning methods ready for textile production.

Lindex reports plans to ensure that 100% of the materials it uses will be recycled or sustainably sourced by late 2026 and loopamid’s use supports this ambition.
