Cyclic Materials opens US commercial facility to recover REE magnets
The company says the Arizona factory will process up to 25,000t of magnet-bearing products annually.
Cyclic Materials claims this will create a new domestic source of rare earth elements and copper, aluminum and steel for direct reintegration into US manufacturing.
The facility provides automated, mechanical separation of magnets from end-of-life products.
More than 7,000t have already been delivered to the Mesa facility. Cyclic Materials says substantially greater volumes are to be secured across its growing supply pipeline.
In a recent Presidential Determination, the Trump Administration recognised end-of-life rare earth permanent magnets as containing recoverable critical materials essential to national defence, explicitly addressing the need for domestic recovery and processing capacity.
Commercial operation is now underway, with the first commercial shipments to US customers expected later this month.
