Neill Wood will discuss The Evolving Role of near Surface Geophysics - These days, few planned medical procedures proceed without some form of diagnostic imaging: x-ray, MRI, CT and so forth. Geophysics is getting better and better at giving us a view of the ground near-surface prior to civil engineering work, yet it's potential is frequently under-exploited. This talk takes at look at the benefits and pitfalls of modern geophysics for site investigation.
