Boulby Mine - Developing the world's first Polyhalite

Lecture is given by Richard Severn
Richard is the Head of Operations at the Boulby Mine in North Yorkshire and will deliver a fascinating insight into the mining of Polyhalite, used as a new source of fertiliser. The mine is almost one mile deep and runs for five miles under the North Sea, tapping into a 260 million year old layer of rock, left behind by an ancient sea.
This is a free event and refreshments are available from 6:00pm.
