Technology allows lateral flow tests to be recycled
A recycling company have come up with a solution for the masses of waste rapid flow covid-19 tests piling up, claiming to be the first in the UK to offer the recycling of lateral flow testing kits.

The company, ReWorked, says that as many as 384mln kits have been ordered by the UK government, all of which are currently going to landfill or being incinerated. This technology can recycle them into children's chairs, outdoor furniture, shopfitting materials and even PPE collection bins.
The service is available to schools, workplaces, individuals using large amounts of the tests considered non-clinical. The campaign hailed #ReclaimTheTest ReWorked sell PPE recycling boxes and bins which are designed to collect single-use facemasks, gloves, visors and now rapid tests.
'The emergence of an entirely new single-use plastic waste stream is a cause for concern for our already vulnerable environment,' says Izzie Glazzard, Marketing Manager at ReWorked.
'Providing safe solutions to avoid further landfill usage or incineration & releasing more CO2 is our utmost priority – and we believe it should be the priority of businesses, establishments & individuals using these tests too.'
