Biodegradable plastics evaluated quicker
The Plastics Technology Centre, AIMPLAS, claims its new test cuts two-thirds of the time it takes traditional tests.

The test simulates industrial composting conditions to calculate the conversion of polymeric carbon into CO2.
AIMPLAS claim it doesn’t replace the standardised tests required for compostable product certification and it is in line with accreditations like UNE-EN 13432 and EN-ISO 14855, allowing manufacturers to filter out samples.
