Port Talbot steelworks agrees electricity deal
Owner Tata Steel has signed a connection offer with the Electricity System Operator.
The agreement will help replace the previous ‘carbon-intensive’ blast furnace with a 3.2Mt electric arc furnace by the end of 2027.
The UK's National Grid will be involved in building the new electrical infrastructure.
