Open competition and our commitment to EDI

IOM3 is committed to the principles of equality, diversity, and inclusivity (EDI) throughout its business, and all active supporters or volunteers sign up through the annual agreement to uphold our EDI values.

In practice, IOM3 appoints individuals to senior active supporter or volunteer positions through open competition; this includes chairs of technical communities, some external committee representatives, and senior governance roles such as Vice-President. Other roles such as membership of technical community committees may be filled through a variety of routes including open competition at the discretion of the trustees.

There are also a number of discrete active supporter or volunteer roles offered by IOM3, where the member is involved on an ad hoc basis and as frequently as their own circumstances allow, such as our Licenced Activity. These roles are vitally important to the life of IOM3; the maintenance of our licences to award professional registration and accredit higher education courses and professional development schemes is a key part of what we do.
