SMEA Annual Diner & Prestige Lecture

Cutlers Hall, Sheffield

The 2024 SMEA Annual Dinner will be on 1st November 2024 and as usual it will be held at the Cutlers ‘ Hall Sheffield. The bar will open at 1900 and dinner served at 2000. Dress code is lounge suits and smart evening wear. 
 
The menu has a vegetarian option - see below. SMEA members, guests and affiliated organisations get the meal at the special rate of £50inc VAT / person for tables of 8 to a maximum of 10 people. Individuals and couples are most welcome.

Wine is not included but can be ordered on the night or pre-ordered through the Cutlers‘ Company.The pre-order form for drinks and the wine list are at the bottom of the newsletter

Prestige Lecture

This year the SMEA Prestige Lecture will be presented by the winner of the 2024 IOM3 Bessemer Gold Medal, Professor Mark Rainforth from the University of Sheffield and is titled: Designing Steel for a Sustainable Low Carbon Future. The lecture precedes the Annual Dinner and starts at 1800 in the Cutlers’ Hall. You can attend the lecture without going to the dinner and there is no charge..
