“Sustainability in the global steel industry: the steel industry has been classified as one of the ‘hard to abate’ sectors and as such, there is an increasing focus on the industry to reduce our CO2 emissions both now and by 2050. So there’s a great amount of work being done by the industry and by a rather large number of external stakeholders, from the finance sector, to NGOs, governments and customer-focused organisations. The presentation will provide an overview of where we are today, what is being done to address the ‘net zero by 2050’ targets but will also provide an overview of the other sustainability challenges that the steel industry is facing and how we can overcome these.”
