Advanced Characterisation Techniques for Materials Analysis

23 Jan 2019
WISE and Women in Materials Event to promote women in Engineering and Materials.
There will be talks from Jennifer Glover, Chair of Loughborough University Women’s Engineering Society and Sarah Boad, Organiser of IOM3 Women in Materials. This will be followed by a talk from Sabrina Yan of Loughborough University on “Advanced Characterisation Techniques for Materials Analysis”.
Sabrina will talk on advanced characterisation techniques including electron microscopy and other analysis techniques, including (S)TEM, EDX, EBSD and FIB (Ga and Xe-plasma). These have proved to be fundamental for the development and understanding of materials The Loughborough Materials Characterisation Centre (LMCC) works closely with industry partners and other universities. A few case studies will be presented on how these characterisation techniques have helped in terms of materials development.
