• 2010 Bessemer Lecturer Announced

    Professor Mike Sellars, Emeritus Professor in the Department of Engineering Materials, The University of Sheffield will present this year's Sir Henry Bessemer Lecture at the Institute of Materials, Minerals and Mining, 1 Carlton House Terrace, London on Thursday 7 October 2010.

    The Institute has announced the 2010 winners of its Medals and Prizes.
  • Top 10 papers for materials science and engineering journals freely available online

    Top 10 papers for journals within the materials science and engineering collection are freely available online in 2010. The collections represent the best articles published in the journal over the last five years, with some of which receiving a publication award from the Institute of Materials, Minerals and Mining. The top 10 were selected for their presentation of outstanding new research and valuable reviews of the field. Articles are available for free through individual journal websites, or at the Maney Material Science & Engineering Spotlight.

    Abstracts are invited for the ESAFORM 2010 conference on materials forming which will take place in Brescia, Italy from 7-9 April 2010. The deadline for abstracts is 18 October 2009. There are mini-symposia on numerous topics, including one on High Temperature Sheet forming.
