The IOM3 Materials Processing & Manufacturing Group provides a technical forum and network to share knowledge and best practice related to the understanding of how materials are manufactured and processed and hence how the material properties can be optimised affecting the subsequent choice and use of all engineering materials (metallic and non-metallic). This group launched in April 2022 and includes the former IOM3 Technical Community groups: Particulate Engineering, Casting & Solidification, Advanced Sheet Metal Forming and Bulk Metal Forming.
Want to get involved? We have vacancies for members of the Leadership Team across all materials and processes, to find out more email [email protected]
Graham Hillier of the Foundation Industries Sustainability Consortium, Professor Cameron Pleydell-Pearce of Swansea University and Chris McDonald of the Materials Processing Institute give their perspectives on the industries and discuss exciting futures.
The foundation industries have innovated and evolved separately over the years, yet they share many commonalities. In this podcast our guests discuss the benefits that come from a joined up approach such as the TFI Network+.
Including Biomaterial strategies to combat implant infections, Mechanical behaviour of thermoelectric materials and Methods and models for fibre–matrix interface characterisation in fibre-reinforced polymers.
