UKRI confirms investment in technological advancement
The UK Department of Science, Innovation and Technology invests over £250mln in artificial intelligence, quantum technologies and engineering biology.

The UK Research and Innovation (UKRI) says the investment is in line with the UK’s goal to tackle global challenges like net-zero emissions, healthy ageing and energy security.
It is hoped that this furthers collaboration between academia and industry, specifically in the fields of:
- Using AI in agriculture, construction and transport
- Growing the UK quantum computing capabilities
- Creating novel biomedicines and a healthier food system.
