UK's Health and Safety Executive seeks input from advanced materials community

The regulator wants to understand the health risks associated with commercialising new advanced materials.

It also seeks to identify the most widely industrially manufactured materials in the UK.

Emerging materials are predicted to have much higher growth rate than in traditional materials sectors, and understanding incipient health and safety concerns within manufacturing processes will support sustainable progress within the area.

The Health and Safety Executive envisages that a strong evidence base delivered through the survey will support later developments and create benefit to the national manufacturing community.
