The French car manufacturer Renault Group and the Moroccan mining company Managem Group have agreed a 'sustainable supply' of Moroccan cobalt.

The partnership aims to secure low-carbon cobalt sulphate from Morocco, guaranteeing traceability for the electric battery supply chain.

More than 80% of energy use at Managem Group's facilities comes from wind power and the company will supply 5,000t of cobalt sulphate a year, starting from 2025.
