IOM3 members elected as Royal Academy of Engineering Fellows in 2026
Five IOM3 members have been elected Fellows of the Royal Academy of Engineering (FREng) in the Academy's 50th anniversary year.
The newly elected Fellows are:

Professor Alan Partridge FREng FIMMM, Director of the Defence Materials Centre of Excellence at the Sir Henry Royce Institute, University of Manchester

Professor Ian Reaney FREng FIMMM, Professor and Dyson Chair in Ceramics, University of Sheffield

Dr Pengzhu Wang FREng FIMMM, Senior Consultant, Tension Technology International; Visiting Professor, China University of Mining and Technology
The Royal Academy of Engineering has elected 75 leading figures in engineering and technology to its Fellowship, recognising individuals who have made exceptional contributions to the profession.
This year's cohort includes innovators and leaders from industry, academia and the public sector working across fields including advanced manufacturing, clean energy, artificial intelligence, infrastructure and public health. The 2026 election coincides with the Royal Academy of Engineering's 50th anniversary year.
Sir John Lazar CBE FREng, President of the Royal Academy of Engineering, said:

The new Fellows will be formally admitted to the Academy at a ceremony in London on 19 October 2026.
