Hybrid Air Vehicles secures deal for 10 low-emission airships

The British aircraft manufacturer will deliver 10 helium-filled airships to Air Nostrum Group from 2026.

The Spanish airline has reserved ten Airlander 10 aircraft with Hybrid Air Vehicles (HAV), UK, for operations on regional routes.

The airships will be designed to transport up to 100 passengers and produce up to 90% less emissions per passenger, compared to conventional commercial planes.

The aircraft will have a maximum payload of 10t and a range of more than 7,000km.

HAV has plans to make all four engines electric, for zero emissions while in operation. (Not accounting for production emissions etc).

The fleet will will be produced in South Yorkshire, creating an estimated 1,800 jobs.
