In a Circular construction: building for a greener UK economy, the Green Alliance makes recommendations to reduce the sector's raw materials use by 35% which they believe would also 'dramatically cut its climate impact.'

They focus on the areas of finance, design and data to achieve this and say they have consulted with a range of industry experts.

The Alliance stresses that the construction sector uses more raw material than any other in the UK, produces more waste and is responsible for 25% of the UK's carbon emissions.

They also say that this part of the UK economy faces poor productivity, housing shortages, supply chain risks, all while buildings and infrastructure need renovating and retrofitting for a net zero future.
