Call for information on the futureproofing of materials, minerals and mining industries

IOM3 is seeking evidence on sustainability in environmentally intensive sectors.

IOM3 is interested in hearing from members with insights on the green transition in materials industries. In particular, we are seeking information on the following areas:

  • The use of electricity and hydrogen energy in the production of ceramics, brick and glass.
  • Defossilising chemical production and the use of more environmentally friendly chemical feedstocks.
  • Futureproofing the glass fibre industry in the UK.
  • Advances in construction materials for energy efficiency in homes.

Knowledge of any of these areas, including technical and commercial feasibility, barriers to progress and successful cases, is strongly welcomed. More broadly, insights on materials that are of strategic importance to decarbonisation across sectors are also encouraged.

Interested members should contact Policy Officer Aoife Burke at [email protected] for more information.
