Geological Vignettes from the Galapagos Islands
Add to calOnline
Speaker is Professor Karen Harpp of Colgate University in New York State
The more than twenty islands of the Galapagos archipelago are renowned for their unique fauna. We know they made an impression on Charles Darwin during his voyage on the Beagle when he visited the islands in 1835. He referred to the islands as "that land of craters", which is nothing if not succinct! Professor Karen Harpp has visited the islands many times in researching their geology and will be sharing her understanding of the forces that have produced them.
