Join us for what promises to be a warm sunny afternoon of fun.
Players will orienteer around Nottingham city centre in their teams (or as individuals) following clues which lead to destinations within a materials science theme and completing as much of the 'Matopoly' board within the time frame.
13:00 Meet at The Naviation Inn (The Navigation Inn, Castle Lock, 6 Wilford Street is a 4-minute walk from Nottingham Railway Station)
13:20 Introductions & instructions (at this point individuals can join with others to make at team)
13:30 Matopoly: Nottingham
17:00 Finish and reception at The Navigation Inn - This will provide an excellent opportunity for networking with peers from a range of materials science and engineering backgrounds, a complimentary buffet and the presentation of all-important prizes.

EMMS Support for Conference Attendance

EMMS were pleased to be able to support Alice Robinson from Rolls-Royce to attend The International Conference for the Tomography of Materials and Structures 2024 (ICTMS2024) in Cape Town, South Africa. Alice said on her return from the conference "With the conference spanning 5 days, the networking opportunities were fantastic. It was a very international conference with attendees from the US, Australia, and all across Europe as well as many South Africans. In terms of my personal contributions during the week, I did both a lightning talk and presented my poster throughout the poster sessions. I was very nervous ahead of the poster session knowing I was from a very niche area of tomography but I’m pleased to say I never stopped talking - I was so busy with people wanting to better understand what atom probe is and how it might be useful to their research. Thank you again for the support from EMMS, without it I wouldn’t have been able to attend this conference."
