The Electron Backscatter Diffraction Technique

The South Wales Materials Association (SWMA) is pleased to announce the first of two meetings in April which will be delivered by Dr Mark Coleman on the topic of Electron Backscatter Diffraction.

In this session Dr Mark Coleman will be covering the Electron Backscatter Diffraction (EBSD) technique used in Scanning Electron Microscopy. This is a quantitative microstructural analysis technique can be used for phase identification, distribution, texture, and grain sizing. This talk will cover basic principles, how EBSD works and when you may want to apply it for your R&D processes. There will also be plenty of time for questions and experimental planning.

This session will be an hour long with refreshments provided and is opened to anyone (UG, PGR, academic and industrial) with an interest in the technique.  The lecture will take place in B003 Engineering Central, Swansea University Bay Campus, but those that are unable to join in person can watch the session via Zoom.

If you require a car parking space booking, please sign up before 4th April, pay and display will be required.
