In collaboration with EMP, we're launching a new course focused on Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA)

Our one-day FMEA Foundations course is designed to give learners the essential knowledge and confidence to participate effectively in Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA) activities.

Ideal for those who are new to the methodology, the course explores the underpinning principles required to understand the purpose, structure and value of both Design FMEA (DFMEA) and Process FMEA (PFMEA) within product, process and service environments.

Through a combination of tutor-led learning and practical exercises, the course demystifies FMEA and presents it as a clear, structured and dynamic tool that can help organisations identify risks early, improve reliability and ensure customer requirements are met.

Led by an experienced tutor, the course will cover:

• understand the purpose and value of FMEA in preventing failures
• distinguish between Design FMEA (DFMEA) and Process FMEA (PFMEA)
• contribute more effectively to FMEA workshops and team activities
• apply practical FMEA principles within their own role and organisation
• understand how to document an FMEA study using a standard template
• recognise how risk prioritisation supports continual improvement and customer satisfaction

This course is suitable for anyone involved in the design, development or improvement of products, processes or services, particularly those who are required to contribute to FMEA activities at a working level.

It is especially relevant for professionals working across the material cycle, including designers, engineers and process specialists who:

• are new to FMEA and want to understand the fundamentals
• have been asked to join or support an FMEA team
• want to understand how FMEA relates to and impacts their role
• are looking to build confidence in structured risk analysis and problem prevention

• IOM3 member discount for this course is 20% so the preferential fee for IOM3 members is £472.
