Materials World May 2013

The May issue has news on economic oil extraction, the versatility of asphalt and uses of graphene and vanadium.

Features consider the many guises of ceramics. While Eoin Redahan spoke with ex-IOM3 President Jan Lewis to learn about his challenging job with Wardell Armstrong and his love of geology, and Rachel Lawler caught up with some more recent graduates to discuss the options available to materials scientists. We also discover how Crossrail is being built and how it will run.
