Sizewell C nuclear power station is open for private investment

The Sizewell C company, EDF and the Government are now looking for companies with major infrastructure experience to invest in the project, subject to strict national security checks.

The nuclear power station to be built in Suffolk will house two of the most powerful reactors in the world, according to the UK Government, powering up to six million homes over 60 years and avoiding nine million tonnes of carbon emissions per year.

Wtih £700mln already invested. the government says they have made £511mln available to continue project development, ahead of a planned private equity raise in advance.

Partners are invited to complete a pre-qualification assessment, with companies needing to meet key criteria for negotiations on a potential equity stake.
