1950–2021
William Stewart died at his home in the Philippines on Tuesday the 14 September 2021 aged 70 years old, he leaves his wife Lorna and 2 children. Bill as he was known to his friends, most recently was working as Project Director for the Novabala JV Corp. on NBAQ4 Aqueduct tunnel project in Manila, Philippines until the start of the Covid 19 Pandemic when he retired to his home in Las Pinas.
Bill graduated from the Camborne School of Mines in 1973 and worked with the cementation group of companies for many years in the UK, Cairo, Philippines, Thailand and Hong Kong. In Taiwan he worked on the HSR with Hyundai, in Hong Kong with Gammon, and with Dae Woo in Singapore.
Bill worked in senior positions in many of his flagship projects such as the Pergau Hydro project, Queensway subway, University of HK service reservoir Caverns, MTR 705 and the HATS 2 project.
Bill was a long time member of the Institution of Mining and Metallurgy and achieved the grade of Fellow.
RIP Bill you will be sorely missed.
