The organisation aims to meet the rising market demand for high-quality recyclates for use in high-end plastic applications.

Advanced and circular polyolefin solutions providers, Borealis, a European market leader in base chemicals and fertilisers, and the Reclay Group, international experts in environmental and material recovery management, have announced the beginning of this jointly founded entity.

Recelerate will connect downstream and upstream expertise to rethink how LWP waste is managed, sorted, processed, and recycled.

The entity will make use of Reclay Group’s knowledge in extended producer responsibility schemes (EPR) and Borealis’ focus on growth of a more circular plastic model.

According to Reclay, Recelerate will help grow the reach, scale and impact of EPR, while for Borealis, it will open up supply of post-consumer plastic waste to be recycled with its Borcycle recycling technology.
