EUR ING Margaret Copland CEng CSci FIMMM was recently awarded for her career in the oil and gas industry spanning 40 years.

We're delighted to share that a Fellow of the Institute of Materials, Minerals & Mining, Margaret Copland, was honoured for her contributions across her 40-year career with the Jørgen Hallundbæk Lifetime Achievement Award at the Offshore Well Intervention Awards held in Aberdeen.

Margaret has been a member of the Institute for over 35 years and has actively participated in our events and activities over the years. She has previously held the positions of Vice Chair of the IOM3 Technology Communities Board, a Board member of the IOM3 Energy Transition Group and a Council member of The Mining Institute of Scotland.

She has had a remarkable 40-year-long career in the oil and gas industry, paving the way for female engineers in the sector.

A Chemical and Process Engineering graduate of the University of Strathclyde, Margaret first joined the North Sea Transition Authority when it was set up and is currently the CS Wells Lead, playing a leading role in assessing legacy wells and in remediation for carbon storage.

Margaret says, 'I’m honoured to receive the award. It pays tribute to all my colleagues, past and present, who work collaboratively and willingly share lessons learned to make the industry one of the most innovative, problem-solving, and value-adding industries.'

Please join us in congratulating EUR ING Margaret Copland CEng CSci FIMMM.
