ICON catalogue gaining international audience

ICON, our publicly searchable library catalogue, has seen an increase in visits and records during the second quarter of 2021. The majority of our users are in the UK and we have seen growing international interest in our library holdings.

Desktops remain the most popular devices used for access, although mobile device come in second place and tablet searches third.

You can access ICON via the IOM3 website. Items listed in ICON are available to order for home/office use or to view in our Grantham centre.

The search facility is open to all and holds approximately 152,000 records, with more being added regularly. We hold IOM3 and its predecessor publications, serials from other publishers and books on many aspects of materials science. We have an extensive international minerals and mining collection which builds on the former IMMAGE database. There are also a large number of listings associated with Tata Steel STC.
