Further import sanctions against Russia by the UK

The UK has expanded the list of products facing import bans and increasing tariffs.

The new sanctions, announced yesterday, will include import bans on silver and wood products.

There will be an increase in tariffs by 35 percentage points on around £130mln worth of products from Russia and Belarus, including diamonds, rubber, salt; sulphur; earths and stone; plastering materials, lime and cement. Also covered are textiles, ceramics and vehicle parts (including aerospace but excluding rail), analytical tools are also covered such as optics or measuring, checking, precision instruments and apparatus.
