EU and Australia partner on critical minerals
A partnership between the EU and Australia seeks to diversify EU supplies of materials for the green transition and develop Australia's critical minerals sector.

A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) provides a framework to build on raw materials value chains through integrating sustainable supply chains, cooperating on both research and innovation and environmental, social and governance standards.
A roadmap will be jointly developed over the next six months to provide concrete actions going forward.
The EU has a network of trade agreements with a total of 74 countries. Negotiations for an EU-Australia free trade agreement are currently ongoing.
