Celebrating our website and visual identity – one year on

Celebrating our website and visual identity – one year on November 2021 marks a full year since the launch of the new IOM3 visual identity and website.

The culmination of a major digital and design project that took place largely over the lockdown period in 2020 and which has transformed the way in which we work and deliver services to our members, learners and customers.

We are delighted at the fresh, modern and adaptable designs made possible through our new visual identity and consider that they have significantly strengthened our brand. Initially delivered mostly through digital media, we have now started to produce physical assets using the new designs, including promotional banners, signage and a limited amount of printed materials.

Our new website was developed in record time in the second half of last year and, following its launch, has continued to expand in content and functionality. The integration of all website activity with our main database system has facilitated new ways of working and means that we can provide most of our main activities and services through a single user log-in, which also means that we have in place a much better system for logging our members’ interests and preferences, and, in turn, makes it easier to ensure that we tailor our communications to people’s interests. The new communications system associated with the website also makes it much easier for us to provide targeted information and has improved our communications with members and resulted in significantly higher open rates for our emails. Visits to our website have also increased by 42-93% per month when compared with the year before launch.

Website development has not stood still since our launch and we have an ongoing programme of enhancements to ensure that we continue to deliver high-quality services, as well as introduce efficiencies wherever possible within the organisation.

  • Live Chat answering visitor queries in real time
  • Digital advertising to boost income
  • Member Update and Student Update monthly newsletters
  • Content Digest weekly email opt-in
  • Targeted emails seeking contributions to consultations
  • Expansion of Training Academy courses content
  • Information about IOM3 boards and trustees
  • Functionality for selected boards, committees and volunteer groups to communicate privately
  • Launch of the new Business Partner Programme
  • Portfolio of on-demand webinars and podcasts
  • Launch of IOM3 Approved activities and associated web pages
  • Events functionality integrated with Zoom
  • Promotion of our Sustainable Future Week activities
  • Digital membership badges and social media assets
  • Online forms in place of paper/downloads

We want to make sure that our website continues to meet members’ needs and makes it easy to find the information they need. We have conducted some short surveys to get feedback, and we are very grateful to those who have responded. Here are some of the comments we received:

  • I think the webpage is much improved and I really like the design overall
  • Your website is aesthetically pleasing and very useful
  • The alerts sent out once personal preferences are set are very welcome 1-2-1 support offered for my query, and the speed of response
  • I registered for an event and like the way the website remembered my IOM3 membership and other personal details
