A new route to CEng registration

From 1 December 2022 those who have qualified for IEng through the Institute and are looking to apply for CEng will be able to do so through our new Technical Case Study.

This route – which was recently approved by the Engineering Council – is a streamlined version of the Technical Report Route, and enables candidates to combine their professional review report and project into a technical case study.

Ian Bowbrick CEng CEnv FIMMM, Director of Membership & Professional Standards said of this new route, 'The Technical Case Study combines two of the key documents in the CEng application pack and avoids duplication of effort for those who have already qualified with us as an IEng. It is also consistent with our ethos of professional progression with IEng being a stepping stone to CEng for those who wish to be so qualified.'
