2023 Starpack Students winners announced

The winners of this year’s Starpack Students competition were announced on 22 June in London.


12 judges made up an independent panel of packaging and design experts who came together to judge packaging created by young designers. A total of 111 entries were received and marked on innovation, design, sustainability, quality and market potential.

Jude Allan MIMMM, Chair of the IOM3 Packaging Group, said ‘It was an absolute delight to host the Starpack Students 2023 awards ceremony yesterday, it is such a privilege to be involved in such an inspiring event. The high-quality of the award winning entries, the enthusiasm and talent of the students and the brilliant support of their lecturers, course leads was truly inspirational'.

Robert Fell, Director and Chief Executive, Metal Packaging Manufacturers Association, said, 'This was a terrific finale to a good year of Starpack Students Awards. Our metal speciality packaging category saw some stunning entries which really wowed our judges, and from a wide range of institutions too which was an added bonus. Congratulations to all the winners and thanks to everyone who entered'.

Each of the judges praised the incredible hard work and dedication made by students highlighting that the standard continues to grow. The competition was established in 1964 and is aimed to challenge young people from a wide range of ages and courses to submit solutions to problems set by brand-leading packaging companies, design agencies and manufacturers.
