2023 FEMS Awards now open

The 2023 FEMS Awards are open for nominations and entries with deadlines from 31 January 2023.

IOM3 is pleased to announce that nominations and entries are now invited for the 2023 FEMS Awards:

  • 2023 FEMS European Materials Gold Medal - deadline 31 January 2023

Awarded biennially and will be presented at the 2023 FEMS EUROMAT Conference (3-7 September in Frankfurt, Germany) where the winner of the award is expected to give a plenary lecture. The winner’s name and that of their Member Society will also be featured in an interview on the FEMS website.

  • 2023 FEMS Materials Innovation Prize - deadline 31 January 2023

Awarded biennially and the winner will receive a medal and certificate, at the FEMS EUROMAT 2023 Conference (3-7 September in Frankfurt, Germany) where they are expected to give a plenary lecture on their innovations and will be invited to publish in the European Journal of Materials. The winner’s name and that of their Member Society will also be featured in an interview on the FEMS website.

  • 2023 FEMS Materials Science & Technology Prize - 31 January 2023

Awarded biennially and will be presented at the 2023 FEMS EUROMAT Conference (3-7 September in Frankfurt, Germany) where the winner will receive a certificate and a prize from Taylor & Francis and is expected to give a plenary lecture. The winner’s name and that of their Member Society will also be featured in an interview on the FEMS website.

  • 2023 FEMS Master Thesis Award – deadline 1 May 2023

Intended to recognise the best Master Thesis on Materials Science & Engineering, presented in any academic institution from the country of any FEMS Member Society. FEMS Member Societies may nominate one candidate per year. To be eligible, the Master Thesis should have been obtained up to a maximum of two academic years before the FEMS final takes place (for the 2023 Competition, eligible entrants must have obtained their degree in 2021 and 2022).
