Plastics and Rubbers on the Net Zero Carbon Timeline June 15th Press Release

The ever-growing concerns of the environmental impacts of plastics and elastomers will be addressed at Manchester Polymer Group’s latest all day seminar which will feature presentations, table tops and plenty of discussion and networking opportunities in a very varied programme.
The morning will open with overviews from Benchmark and the Sustainable Materials Innovation Hub covering How Packaging saves Money and the Planet and Cultivating Sustainable Relationships with Plastics. This will be followed by a Sustainability session from Clwyd Compounders and Queen Mary University of London (QMUL) covering Sustainable Polymers and Elastomers and Innovative Sustainable Solutions for Training Shoe Design.
Biopolymers and Additives will be covered by Birla Carbon and Queen’s University Belfast under topics such as Sustainable Carbonaceous Materials helping Meet the Challenges of Net Zero; Novel Highly Resilient Biorenewable Synthetic Elastomer from Plant-based Raw Materials and Novel bio-based self-healing thermoplastic polyurethanes,
After lunch, the afternoon will be dedicated to Recycling with varied topics from the Sustainable Materials Innovation Hub, the Biocomposites Centre at Bangor University, QMUL and B&M Longworth as Recycled Plastic content through aggregation-induced emission: ReCon2; Challenges and issues for plastic film recycling and potential solutions; Optimisation of sulphur curing formulations to enable recyclability for Natural Rubber and Steam Depolymerisation of waste PET fibres to Terephthalic Acid followed by Re-polymerisation.
Table Tops confirmed so far will feature plenty of opportunities to review the latest updates from companies such as Artis, Rubber Heart, PREA, Safic Alcan, Netzsch, Smithers, B&M Longworth and the Sustainable Materials Innovation Hub.
