Visit to Westmoreland Mechanical Testing and Research Laboratory

CWMS are pleased to announce a return to physical events with this visit to the Westmoreland Mechanical Testing and Research laboratory in Banbury. WMT&R is one of the largest single independent providers of materials testing in Europe and continues to add capacity as the business develops. In addition to state-of-the-art mechanical testing capabilities, they have capabilities in surface engineering technology, bonding/rivet repair/ fasteners technology, and various corrosion test methods. The lab also provides metallographic support, failure analysis, SEM work, adhesion tests, chemical analysis OES and salt spray facilities, alternate immersion testing and composites humidity conditioning facilities. WMT&R provides services to a wide range of industries including aerospace, automotive, oil & gas and power generation. As well as metallic materials they have expertise in testing composites and components produced by additive manufacture www.wmtr.co.uk/ The visit will kick off at 16:30 with a lab tour and include a presentation on activities in the laboratory with some highlights from recent projects. Refreshments will be provided and the event should wrap up by 18:00.
