Technical Visit to SENT and SENTX Landfill, Tseung Kwan O

The South East New Territories Landfill (SENT Landfill) is one of the three strategic landfills in Hong Kong, and the SENT Landfill is the second largest in terms of geographical area. Since 6 Jan 2016, SENT Landfill only accepts construction waste. In 1993 the design, build, operation and 30 years' aftercare of the SENT landfill was sub-contracted by the EPD.

The SENT Landfill Extension (SENTX) forms an integral part in the Strategic Plan in maintaining the continuity of landfill capacity in the Hong Kong for the cost-effective and environmentally satisfactory disposal of waste. Construction of the extension commenced in 2019.

Personal Protective Equipment
Please kindly remind the participants to prepare their own PPE. Safety shoes is a must. Some Safety helmets & reflective vests will be provided on site but not guaranteed.

Registration will be accepted on a first-come first-served basis. Maximum no. of participants is 20. Priority will be given to IOM3 members. Successful applicants will be notified before 20th March 2024. A Certificate of Attendance [2.5 hrs] for Continuing Professional Development (CPD) will be provided at the end of the event.
