The Sheffield Metallurgical and Engineering Association in partnership with IOM3 and UK Steel have organised a series of seminars aimed at companies in the metals and materials supply chain.

The format of the seminar series will consist of six one-day events at six monthly intervals.

Overview

The inaugural seminar will consist of five presentations, one for each of the five themes.

The titles of the five themes are:

  • Globalisation in the Metals Industry
  • Innovation in Metals and Materials
  • Materials for Sustainable Power
  • Sovereignty, Security and Critical Materials Issues
  • Challenges and Opportunities within the Circular Economy

The objective of the series is to provide an opportunity for companies in the metals and materials supply chains to  enhance their employees' knowledge of the challenges and opportunities facing the industry.  It is particularly suited for those in middle and senior management positions.

The seminars will be free to attend with funding provided by industry sponsors and the SMEA.  Partners include IOM3 and UK Steel

The SMEA is an Affiliated Local Society of the IOM3 and as such the attendance at the seminars will be CPD approved.

Seminar one of the series will be held at the AMP Knowledge Transfer Centre at Catcliffe Rotherham on 24 September.
