US bans tungsten waste export
The measures will come into effect on 27 August and comments on the ruling will be accepted for 21 days.
The US Bureau of Industry and Security is banning the export of recycled battery materials and tungsten waste and scrap.
Some suppliers may be eligible to apply for exemptions during the one year period after it comes into force. Otherwise, US nationals engaged in the sale of recycled battery materials and tungsten waste and scrap must allocate 100% of monthly sales to those in the US.
The bureau says the move is due to the critical nature of these resources for national defence.
