The clean hydrogen industry has announced more than 1,400 projects needing $570bln by 2030, and the not-for-profit Energy System Network sayS these need cross-industry collaboration and public-private partnerships.

The alliance will foster this collaboration and is intended to catalyse commercial partnerships.

Several companies, including BP, Hoosier Energy and the Itochu Corporation have become inaugral members, with more companies to be added selectively to ensure industry representation.

The alliance is to be based in Indiana, USA, where more than $10bln of hydrogen projects are said to be in development. Initially, it will seek to engage with companies in that Midwest region but reach further afield through new members.

The alliance aims to be a one-stop-shop for companies to understand the market trends.
